Recent haul: snakeskin vs. snakeprint thong sandals

My new thong sandals from pla (left) and Tory Burch (right)

These are also part of my recent haul for footwear that were just bought or received this week (another recent haul for flat shoes was posted here).

One is made from real snakeskin (python) and the other is made from snakeprint leather.

One is from pla (a local brand that designs comfortable and cute footwear, mostly flatties) and the other is from Tory Burch.

Both are comfortable and I am simply happy with this purchase.

Aaden and Kaitlin

I like Tory Burch shoes, especially its flat and pump shoes.
These Aaden (flat and pump) and Kaitlin (flat) are my latest acquisition from its Independence Day sale (last month).

And I have to say that these shoes are all very comfortable.
Definitiely they are worth buying!!

Sally and Kelly

These duo are still my favourite combo for a matching bag and shoes: Hermes Kelly 35 Etoupe and Tory Burch Sally wedges in grey lizard print. They are so easy to match with most of my daily outfits. Furthermore, most of my jewelry/accessories are in silver (instead of gold). So having them in silver/paladium hardware are so great.

Check out my previous post about them in here.

Tory Burch Robinson Double Zip Tote

I am a fans of Tory Burch Robinson collection.
So when a tote bag insaffiano leather with longstrap was launched, I was excited. I thought that the style is great for daily handbag and the price is relatively cheaper compared to Prada's tote bag in saffiano leather. Check my previous post in here when I drooled over this Robinson (and Prada tote) bag.

So here is my new Tory Burch Robinson Double Zip Tote in Black

Gold hardwares

The bag has great details on its hardwares. Check this close up photos. TB logo or name or ornament is embossed on most of the gold hardwares.

Made in China (no surprise)

With this price range, I should not expect that the bag will be tagged as Made in Italy :p
But see how tiny and thin the Made in China' plastic tag is!

Weight

Whenever I used the bag, I always felt that it is NOT a lightweight bag. So I took it to the bathroom scale and it weighs 1.2kg when it is empty and longstrap is attached. Note that the weight may not be 100% accurate as my digital scale is old enough :p

When the bag is worn

In my opinion, the best to wear the bag is to have it handcarried without the longstrap. The bag will show its best shape and it looks neat! This is how it looks when it is handcarried (but sorry, no mod pics yet :( )

When the longstrap is used, can I give a suggestion that the magnetic closure must be always fastened?

In the next few pics, you may see the difference when the magnetic closure is fastend or unfastened and how it affects the shape of the bag!

So, this is the bag worn with longstrap and the magnetic closure is fastened.
The shape of the bag is still in 'boxy/square-ish' shape as it should be for a tote bag.
And notice the 2 next pictures where the longstrap 'pulled' up (with strong power) the saffiano inside lining and for me it looks a bit fragile! I am afraid that sooner or later it may damage the stitches!

And now see when the bag is worn with longstrap with magnetic closure is unfastened.
The bag shape now looks like a 'parallelogram' lol. No longer a boxy/square-ish-shaped bag as it should be for a tote bag ;) The bag does not look neat for a tote bag and this fact quite annoys me though :((
Ooh, and also notice in the last photo that the issue of its longstrap pulling up the saffiano inside lining (in full power) still exists :(

My verdict

As a conclusion, this is still a great bag for me. But whenever I want to use it, I would leave the longstrap at home and have the bag handcarried. Then I believe that the bag will showcase its best chic and classic shape to everyone looking at it ;)

Pssst, the bag was empty when all these pics were taken.

The photos of Michelle Trachtenberg carrying Tory Burch 797 satchel might be old photos, but I think I had to make a post about this photo since I have the very same bag.

Splurge and save

Splurge

Prada Saffiano Lux Tote
BN 2274
L 12.99" H 9.25" D 5.71"
USD 1,810

 Save
Tory Burch Robinson Double Zip Tote
14"L x 5 1/2"W x 10 3/4" H
USD 575

These two bags are very much look alike.
Both are using saffiano leather.
Design-wise, both are very very similar.
Size-wise, the Tory Burch is one inch longer than the Prada.
Strap buckle is slightly different and I like Prada better on its buckle design.
Logo position is exactly the same.
Price-wise, Prada cost 3 times more expensive than Tory Burch (ouch!).

The reason why I made this post because simply I like the bag (both!). I saw the bag for first time on Mission Impossible 4 movie, as it was worn by Lea Seydoux (she was the bad girl on the movie). I like it when the bag was worn in cross-body style. It looked comfortable yet stylish.

Since I really like the bag style (a tote bag that can be worn crossbody), then I decided to get one.
Which one is it? Well, I choose to 'SAVE', meaning I just bought a Tory Burch Robinson Double Zip Tote in black. Even better, I bought it during Bloomingdales sale. Then it just became 'SUPER SAVE'. Yay!

Now I just need to wait patiently until the bag is delivered to my doorstep....

Sally and Kelly

They are my favourite combo, Hermes K35 etoupe PHW and Tory Burch Sally lizard-print taupe SHW.

Sally wedges from Tory Burch is very comfortable for daily wear. I can stand in front of the class (errr, when I am teaching^_^ ) for 2-2.5 hours on this pair of shoes without getting any blisters on my foot or getting tired.

From fashion runway to my closet

image from purseblog
I saw the bag for the first time from a picture of Tory Burch fashion runway back in September 2011. And I love it instantly!
So the bag has been on my wishlist for almost 5 months and I am now excited that finally this is officially part of my bag collection and has been resting in my closet for 1-2 days.

By the way, the name of the bag is not easy to remember: 'Tory Burch Patent Croc Print 797 Satchel in yellow'. Or I simply call it '797 satchel croc' :p
By the time I made this post, the bag is already sold out from Tory Burch's website. Hehehe

And here are more pictures of the bag
