My (other) handbag collection

Do you know that I am truly a bag fetish? It doesn't matter if the brand is not famous or popular. But my addiction to handbag is quite severe LOL
I do collect premium designer handbags, and I try to track them on monthly basis AND will post them in this blog.

BUT, actually I still have other handbag collection which do not fall under category of premium designer handbags, for several reasons:

  1. The brand itself is not known for being 'premium' in the designers' world
  2. They are mostly made of nylon or plastic
  3. They are made in Indonesia, i.e. made from batik or python skin
  4. They are sometimes aspiring/new brand worth watching
  5. They are something that I simply like
  6. They are something that make me feel 'unique' when I am wearing them
  7. .... and I will add more if I find more reasons :D

So here are my other handbag collection, which are categorized into 2 groups

Worlwide brands

Local brands

Psssst: my non-premium designer handbag collections (i.e. brands mentioned above) are always kept updated in here.

Proenza Schouler PS1 Medium in Smoke and Saddle

Proenza Schouler PS1 Medium 'Smoke'

Proenza Schouler PS1 Medium 'Saddle'

These 2 colours are the most classical colours from Preonza Schouler. If I have to choose only one between these two, I will be having a hard time to decide. Both are gorgeaus neutral colours and made of exquisite leather which will be 'aging' or maturing beautifully.

Price: USD1595

PS: by the time I made this post, the 'smoke' colour is OOS on their website. Hmmm, this may be a hint that 'smoke' is more popular than 'saddle'... But, I am still contemplating for getting another PS1, as I wish to stick on my 2011 bag resolution.... *sigh*

Lovely Batik - January Shopping Haul

I am always 'weak' with batik bag especially made from batik lawas.
Batik lawas has distinguished colours that new batiks can not compete with. After being used and loved for more than 30 years, those batik fabrics are still stunning. Hence, it is a great material for a bag.

When I saw the raw materials were posted (offered), I can not help myself but immediately ordered these 2 Flawless bags at Lovely Batik. And the results are simply lovely and beyond beautiful.........

I don't really have many Louis Vuitton bags right now....

LV bag family as of January 2011

I used to be a huge fans of Louis Vuitton bags. At that time, my aim was to collect as many as possible the LV lines. Hence I once had had LV lines in: monogram canvas, minilin, damier ebene, damier azur, monogram mat, epi, denim and cabas antigua. But then my affection towards LV bags has been diminishing significantly since I got to know Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta and Chanel (I oftern referred to 'BBC'). The reason is quite simple, because now I only want to keep bags in classical styles and in full leather.
Therefore most of my LV bags collection have all gone to new homes and got new mommies. The remaining bags are only those featured in the photo. There are 3 bags that I have strong emotional attachment:
  1. LV monogram canvas Petit Noe as my very first LV bag and the one that made me addicted to branded bags. Purchased in 1998 in London, LV's Sloane Street store.
  2. LV epi Saint Jacques bleu tolede as my graduation gift from my parents when I was about to leave UK for good. Purchased in 2000 in London, LV's New Bond Street store.
  3. LV monogram canvas Tulum PM as a souvenir from our unforgettable Europe trip in 2006. Purchased in Paris, LV's Lafayette store.
Oh, I would still keep the monogram canvas Neverfull as it is very functional as a tote bag.

I can conclude that within 12 years, my preference on branded bags has shifted. Well, 12 years are actually not a short period of time. It was a journey for me to get to know various branded bags.... and now I have settled in for less bags collection but will only keep only those that I love and use.

I just received the bag on Friday afternoon, and the bag has become my weekend bag eversince.
I took her to Gandaria City on Sunday morning, where I enjoy my green tea latte at Starbucks Caffe, accompanied by the Flawless bag and my iPad (as my latest toys).

I was an impulsive shopper. Look what I got at Longchamp store!

On one fine day, I went to PIM2 for running errands and suddenly the red planetes got my attention when checked into the new Longchamp store. So I decided to take one and asked the SA to bag it for me. But then, I saw the green birdie, lying on the shelf. The birdie is so cute and very 'adoptable'. Hence it was finally adopted and came home with me...

Well, it was one happy ending story for me on that day.

(Still) green with envy

Hermes greens
Clockwise from top left: Vert Cru, Ver Anis, Ver Chartruese
Hermes Vert Bengale

I feel than I have a stronger force to like green colours recently. *sigh*. This is so very unexpected for me as green is used to be my LEAST favourite colour.

And to be honest, my holygrail of green bag must be an Hermer Birkin (32/35) in Vert Anis. But Vert Anis is not easy to get as it is quite a rare colour in Hermes.... So, in the meantime I shall get other Hermes colour. I am now thinking of red, blue, pink.... urrghh, what an endless wishlist

Green with envy

YSL Muse large in emerald green/shamrock

Celine Mini Luggage

Bottega Veneta Maxi Veneta in Assenzio

I am NOT a fans of green colour. This is my LEAST favourite colour. I found that green has so many colour tones. Just think of peppermint green, mulitary green, olive green, leaf green, grass green, emerald green, lime green, pistachio green, and other greens.

BUT, when I saw these green bags from Bottega Veneta, YSL and Celine for their Spring-Summer 2011 Collection, I instantly fell in love with green colour. They are just very nice 'pop' colours that will stand out loudly.... *drooling*

So the next question is, "Should I get a green bag this year?"..... *wink*
