My new personalized Longchamp Le Pliage Cuir

Around 3 months ago, Longchamp local store had an event where they accepted custom order of personalized Le Pliage Cuir. I surely could not miss such opportunity, especially the offer was only a short period of time.

When I decided to get my personalized Le Pliage Cuir, I was simply overwhelmed with the colour combination that Longchamp offered in Le Pliage Cuir. At that time Longchamp offered its Spring Summer 2014 colours for the personalization products (see first photo above), which means bright pop colours such as pink, orange, yellow, red, etc, and those the colours that I love. So I knew that the making of personalized bag would be challenging for me lol

In the first step of making the personalized Le Pliage Cuir, I had to choose the model or size, but it was an easy task as I had decided from the beginning that it will be a medium Le Pliage. Then the second step was very challenging as I had to select one colour for the main body. I decided that it had to be a bright colour so I did not look further at brown, black, taupe, dark blue ones. I simply narrowed down the colour option because I already had Le Pliage Cuir in yellow (here), red (here), orange (here), fuchsia (here) in my current collection. Hence there was only one option left: P.I.N.K.

After I selected a medium size Le Pliage in pink, then I jumped into the lining decision. From the beginning I knew that I must have the lining in bright yellow as in the regular Le Pliage Cuir bag we would never ever get a yellow lining. Again this part of lining selection is an easy job for me.

And the next few steps are full of FUN. Yes I had fun in choosing the colour combination for the handles and flap, tabs and long strap. Before placing the order, I spent like 1.5 hours inside the store to play around with the colour swatches and finally came up with following final decisions (1) orange for handles, flap and tabs, and (2) dark blue for the long strap. In the last step I decided that I had to have my initial perforated on the main body. After placing and confirming the order all I had to do was to wait (impatiently) lol for approximately 3 months.

Therefore when I received my personalized bag last week, I was very satisfied and excited with the bag. Now I am eager to get another one especially the Fall Winter 2014 collection offers amazing purple tones such as bilberry or amethyst. I wished that the local store could offer another opportunity for custom order again *fingers crossed*

Bag of the day: Longchamp Le Pliage Plumes

I am completely aware that I have been inactive in the past 6 months and have made a very minimum blog post. Now it is already March and I wish to start blogging actively. To achieve my simple blogging goal, I plan to regularly post my bag of the day and I have intentionally created a new label for it.

Well, this is my first post on the topic of 'bag of the day' :)

Pssssst, please check the previous post about the same bag in here.

Recent Longchamp haul

About a month ago, Longchamp held its annual End of Season sale for the fall winter collection. Of course I did not miss the event especially when the SA called me in advance and advised me for the upcoming event ;)

So on the first day of sale event, I went to the store, stayed inside the store for total 15 minutes (I was in hurry) and went home with a big green 'Longchamp' paper bag. Well, I bought 3 Le Pliage bags: 2 Le Pliage Cuir in cumin and bilberry and 1 Le Pliage Plumes in bronze. All are in medium size (length 32cm) with long strap.

In my opinion, the Le Pliage Plumes bag is quite unique as Longchamp claimed that it uses printed moleskin fabrics and the fabrics feel super soft!

All these bags have been actively on duty in the past one month. They are great for daily bags and the medium size is just perfect for me.

See the printed moleskin fabrics of Le Pliage Plumes in close up. There are many 'Longchamp' letters printed randomly all over the fabrics surface. What a great details!

Pssstt, please check out my other Le Pliage Cuir bags here.

My souvenir from China trip

From my recent trip to China, I got myself this special Longchamp Le Pliage with Great Wall of China print. This special edition bag is only issued in China (including Hong Kong). During this season the Longchamp stores in China offer several colours for this print like red, khaki and indigo blue. The indigo blue is so vibrant and I simply could not resist it.

I have to confess that this is my THIRD Longchamp Le Pliage with Great Wall of China print. I also own the same bag in grape red and brown, please check here and here.

And you know what, until now I have never been to the Great Wall.... One day, definitely I will climb up and walk on the famous wall.

Made by Longchamp

This bag is from Longchamp SS2013 collection, under 'Made by Longchamp' series.
It is my latest impulsive purchase (bought yesterday at Longchamp local store) and I really like the canvas material combined with red-blue leather trims. To be honest, the colour combination (red-blue-ecru) reminds me of French national flag lol

The bag comes in 2 sizes and I opted the medium one (32x28x17cm) as it suits me better as a daily bag. The other size is large (45x35x23cm) which will be a great travelling bag and guaranteed to be a chic cabin bag.

Duchess of Cambridge carries a Longchamp Le Pliage bag

It is good to see a member of royal family (future queen of Britain) toting such a common bag as Longchamp Le Pliage.

Here, Duchess of Cambridge was seen carrying the Longchamp's most famous bag while she's at Tuvalu airport during her recent South East Asia and South Pacific visit.

And she looked elegant (as always).

Inside my bag: Longchamp LM Burgundy

During my recent overseas trip, I brought my loyal and (rather) new Longchamp LM Burgundy. (Check my previous post in here)

The contents of my bag at that time were
  • 2 wallets (Prada grey wallet for foreign curreny and LV for local currency)
  • passport (covered in green Coach passport case)
  • small orange flower-print case for MRT pass card
  • dark blue pouch for keeping the airline tickets and hotel voucher
  • small pinkish pouch for portable charger
  • Jim Thompson pencil case
  • Jim Thompson small mirror
  • Moleskin fuchsia small notebook
  • make up pouch (from Etsy)
  • mints (Ice Breakers and Alba)

Travelling in Longchamp

I tried to change handbag whenever I had the opportunity of travelling by airplane, so that I can 'test' the bag and make a verdict if the bag is really suitable for travelling purpose.

From the recent trip, I brought Longchamp LM in burgundy from FW 2012 collection. Being a Longchamp canvas/non-leather bag it was already a travel friendly bag, and this LM series bag has coated fabrics that was proven to be durable.

I saw no scratches/rubs on any parts of the bag after being used and abused for 3 days. And I wish to highlight that this bag from LM series looks much more durable than the Le Pliage series.

And while waiting for our flight to take off, I was quite hungry but none of the food at airport's restaurants appealed me. So I just had dessert at Bakerzin instead.

I ordered Profiteroles and a cup of hot chocolate. And it turned out that it was a giant Profiteroles with 4 scoops of soft vanilla ice cream!

Profiteroles or cream puff (US) or choux à la crème is a choux pastry ball filled with whipped cream, pastry cream, or ice cream. This treat is usually very sweet. The puffs may be decorated or left plain or garnished with chocolate sauce, caramel, or a dusting of powdered sugar. (Wikipedia)

See how big my profiteroles was!

Planetes

Ebony - Black

Victoire

Burgundy - Gun Metal

In this post I have summarized my favourite lines from Longchamp and its FW 2012 colours.
If during last season (SS 2012) I was so attracted to Le Pliage Cuir series, then things turned out differently now. The Le Plieage Cuir from current season simply does not attract me. The colours look muted and so 'winter'. I much prefer its SS 2012 bright and bold colours (those orange and cyclamen pink are so irresistable).

From this FW 2012 collection, I adore its LM series and croc-print Le Pliage.
So if I have to choose one or two, then I will opt LM in old gold (just because I have owned LM burgundy) and croc-print Le Pliage in duck blue.

Highlight of the week: Longchamp Mary Katrantzou in Lantern print

From Longchamp SS 2012 Collection, a collaboration with Mary Katrantzou has been proven to be a successful one. It is evidence as this bag was sold out everywhere including in major Longchamp's stores in Paris.

Yet my sister has helped me to find this bag in Germany during her recent trip to Europe (well, it was after an unsuccessful mission in Paris;) ). I am so excited! The size is perfect for everyday bag. Roomy and slouchy enough.

By the way, I have put this bag on my wish list since I heard about Mary Katranzou collaboration with Longchamp. See my previous post in here when I was drooling over all of Mary Katrantzou collection.

Now I can not wait for the weekend to wear the bag! I am sure that it will be a great bag to go out with the kids ;)

A rare find: Longchamp Victoire Leopard

The bag was released in F/W 2008 (if I am not mistaken). It is made from camel wool material (it looks like felt matrial too) and the highlight is the Longchamp rider in leopard frint faux fibers (it feels like pony hair on the touch).

I managed to acquire this rare pre-loved beauty (in excellent condition) from a sweet friend/reseller from the other side of the world. So excited I am!

Longchamp Jeremy Scott 'Paradise'

and my own 'Paradise'

For me, April is the month of Longchamp.

To begin with, I had several Longchamp hauls in April and I was so pleased with the release of Longchamp Le Pliage Cuir series. The Le Pliage cuir is so divine and I think this is where I will have the new obsession in the coming seasons.

But, I also got another highlight this April, as I managed to snap a Longchamp Jeremy Scott 'Paradise' travel bag. Yay! The first Jeremy Scott bag for me and this is so cute. The theme is so right to welcome our holiday season in the next 1-2 months.

And please notice that 'each letter' that forms the word of 'Paradise' has unique beach-themed design. Isn't it marvelous?
